One of the best things I do for my sanity is host a dinner with other kickass entrepreneurs.
Here’s the the thing – it’s not about professional development (which does happen).
It’s the social side. The sanity check. At one moment I talked about how entrepreneurship sucks, and everyone in the room nodded – they KNOW what I’m talking about. They empathize with it.
So these dinners – it’s not about being cool or getting a leg up. It’s almost like a social support system.
And the truth is that everyone should be thinking along these lines. It’s not just for entrepreneurs. Managers. Sales people. Product development. Engineers.
There is so much value and power in bringing your peers together to have good food, meet good people, and then carry on the multitude of conversations later.
